Tal Alrumman- Albalqaa- Jordan, Suleiman Alhadidi©

The Establishment of royal Botanic garden is part of the biodiversity strategy and action plan, prepared by the ministry of environment to implement the 1992 convention on biological diversity, ratified by Jordan in 1993. The ministry of planning and international cooperation, ministry of agriculture and ministry of water and irrigation are prominent supporters of the garden.

The royal botanic garden will be the hub for the conservation of Jordan’s biodiversity; this will include establishing natural habitats, theme gardens and a national herbarium through both its main site and associated satellite sites throughout the country. It will be the center of education to achieve a better understanding of Jordan’s botanical heritage and will promote the knowledge and appreciation of plants for personal enjoyment, inspiration and scientific research.

Furthermore, the royal botanic garden will establish a state of the art research center, with the aim of becoming one of the most credible reference centers in the world.
